I know you said don’t come at you but you’re minimizing Lucas’ work on Empire. He wrote an outline and gave it to Leigh Brackett to write. She did a draft and then tragically died. He rewrote it quite a bit. Then he hired Kasdan to further rewrite but Lucas would edit.
