There’s a “folk school” in western NC that’s teaches traditional crafts and skills. They have a hand carved sign over a similar set of stairs with two birds that reads “Duck or grouse” The guy really losing his patience from all those teasing that he went to the I would rather stand by Purdue and be against by the world than to stand with the world and be against by Purdue shirt and I love this park to let loose but apparently a ball was spotted and it is about to hit him and a guy who saw it went and shout duck which leads to the guy shouting angrily for calling him duck and lose consciousness right after when the ball hit him right in the noggin. That stairway reminds me of a horror game I knew many, many years ago. I forget the name but that was a weird realization. Duck 🙂 Explanation if needed, duck and grouse both being birds commonly eaten, so the choice of which would you prefer. And duck being the action, and the consequence of being in pain.

Or you could do something that’d actually help people, and get one of those padding strips on the I would rather stand by Purdue and be against by the world than to stand with the world and be against by Purdue shirt and I love this part that people hit. I’m talking about the one that people put on the edges (and corners) of sharp surfaces, like tables/beds. This is brilliant. Make everyone look up and wonder why there is a duck, causing them to trip, thereby avoiding hitting their head. My toddler was about to hit her head on a bar at the playground so I told her to duck and she quacked at me. And then hit her head. Bar I went to in England had a low doorway with a picture of a duck over it and a caption that said “duck or grouse” Unfortunately I am clumsy enough that even if I got the joke in time, I’d laugh and then lose my balance and hit my head anyway We have a ridiculous low support beam through our basement and we got foam kids protective bumper and stuck it to the corner. Our house is from 1868 and also has a duck with DUCK written under it at the same spot on our stairs. It’s apparently been in that spot for generations. I lived in a house once with a bunch of buddies when I was 19 with a ceiling like this in it that was like 5’10, I’m 6’4 and one time i got really excited about something and ran really fast downstairs to tell my friends and forgot about the ceiling. I hit that wall so hard, and since it’s like 6 inches shorter than me it hit my head all the way down to right below my nose and knocked me out cold, I woke up at the bottom of the steps a few seconds later and all my friends felt sorry for me but were also laughing… it was pretty embarrassing lol
