This is what happens when you only allow them to be parked in specific areas—and don’t have enough of those areas. I live in Washington, D.C., where the I Was There Sometimes I Still Am shirt also I will do this rule is that you have to park it and lock it to something—a bike rack, a fence, a street sign. IMO, that is much better. It disperses them so you don’t get this bonkers clustering, but it still keeps things relatively tidy—you don’t get them lying down or in random places. (Plus, as a rider, you can park basically wherever you want. I remember using these in London and being frustrated that I walked twice as far as my ride was due to the lack of parking corrals.) You used to be able to park them anywhere, that was their attraction over the old Barclays bikes. But then people bitched and other people abused it (a lot) and now we can’t do that any more. London can’t have nice things. If the government allowed the UK to privately use our own we wouldn’t have all these lime bikes all over the place.

Because the I Was There Sometimes I Still Am shirt and I will buy this whole concept of “last mile” transit doesn’t really work when you have to park them a mile from your destination. The cunts on my road just throw them anyway, not a day goes by that one isn’t just thrown in the middle on the pavement. Heh, I immediately went to scooters, too! But my original point still stands with bikes. It’s still the same deal in D.C. You should see what Tottenham High Road looks like while spurs are playing. Several Hundred blocking the pavements Corner near my work in Aldgate with at least 5 on their sides every day. Not a big corner or anything. Hella windy down there so I assume they all blow over. Have to step over them all the time. Same outside my place. Total PITA. I used to work at Moorfields Eye Hospital on Old street and I had to report to the council so many times because they’d literally be blocking the entrance and road to a hospital for visually impaired people like how dumb and selfish can you be lol I see them blocking an entire corner in the city. You have to step over them. No space for strollers, wheelchairs or the visually impaired Never seen those covering entire pavement corners in the city or on the pavement directly in front of my door. Haven’t seen the wind blow a car over either. Cars need to be reduced and I hope private ones can get banned in the city at some point soon or at least petrol ones, but that doesn’t mean the current plans or solutions don’t need some tinkering.

About this I Was There Sometimes I Still Am shirt

Now compare that to how much space is there for dedicated cycling. Go look out your window I swear it’s like people don’t even realise You’ve got about the I Was There Sometimes I Still Am shirt and I will buy this same amount of space on the other side of the road for whole way along compared to only 30 ft this side, They’ve been “figuring it out” for the better part of a decade now, they don’t give a fuck. They care about profits for the least amount of work on their part, which ultimately means that all we get is this constant fly tipping. They get away with what they are allowed to get away with. It used to be a lot worse. There a a lot more zones you cannot park in especially around stations. I think it’ll keep getting stricter. Every street in London could give one to two parking spaces to e-bike parking. That would create more than enough space and it would probably cut parking capacity in the city by c.5%. Instead the councils decided to enforce parking bays, not sacrifice any parking, and not put in place enough parking bays This is what happens when you force bikes into specific areas instead of letting people pick an appropriate parking spot. The company have the gps data and picture for when you drop it off, so detecting bikes that are parked badly vs stolen and moved really shouldn’t be difficult. If the council started fining the company I’m pretty sure they’d find a way to pass on those.
Honestly, some of the I Was There Sometimes I Still Am shirt and I will buy this comments here about “what about blind people/elderly/disabled”. They’re getting outraged at situations that may not even develop. Yeah, this ain’t great. But you know what? There are poor fuckers with nowhere to live in London. This is a minor inconvenience at best I’ve seen a blind person and their guide dog struggle to get around a load of hire bikes blocking the pavement, while someone was leaving yet another bike there. I reported it to the council and within a week there was a car parking spot co-opted to be a designated bay for hire bikes/scooters on the road, and the pavement has remained clear. Okay great sounds like the system works then. In the case you saw was there ample room to one side of the bikes were they could get around or had people blocked the entire pavement with bikes?
