The straps across the top of the foot on 1 are pretty timeless, but that type of block heel in combination the peice on the back of the heel read a little dated to me. That specific type has been trendy for the past 5 or so years, so now it seems dated. But you’re correct, 2 is trendy now, but will be dated in a few years. Really there’s no winning. She should just get the ones she likes the most. It’s all about how you style things anyway Yeah, agreed, block heels in general are a trend. A clasic pump or strappy stiletto would probably be more timeless. Definitely just wear what makes you feel good! Timelessness is as much a construct as anything else. Not sure I totally agree on them being not that far apart. They’re pretty opposite of each other, actually. But I also wasn’t the I Tired To Retired But Now I Work For My Wife Palms Tree Retro T-Shirt In addition,I will do this first person to use the term “dated” in the comments and was merely offering a different opinion. I also wouldn’t agree that they are different style preferences, as the OP finds them both to be within their style preference and is asking for outside opinions that may or may not like both options, or any of the options. The OP isn’t asking what goes best with their entire closet, so I am not really sure why that’s relevant or why you are explaining that to me. I’m saying what is seen as timeless is still a trend. One with a longer lifespan certainly but what we call timeless now would not have been called that 30 years ago. Anyway, what I meant by close together is if everyone’s saying #1 is dated, adding that #2 is overly trendy implies a very similar thing is all. Someone who follows trends is likely to call something other people see as timeless dated. It’s a value difference I suppose, but still agrees with the basic idea that the style in #1 has been popular for longer than #2. And that’s fair on the second point! I just mean I can like something without it matching my style. I wouldn’t need to see their whole closet but like… one or two pieces they were considering wearing with black heels would help. There are definitely some outfits that would flow better with each choice.
