First there is a lifetime of etiquette and social expectations for the user, there is the issue of caring for what you own and third there is infrastructure to handle that level of bikes.

On a lime bike, you can keep up with traffic pretty much all the time so far fewer dangerous overtakes etc. Only tried Santander’s and Forrest bikes recently, so can’t comment on Lime. But I actually think the Santander electric bike was better. Only problem is that there are barely any electric Santanders. But I think the general concept of having to park the bike in a locker thingy is much better than the other options. The lockers could even charge the bikes which’d be cool

Having charging stations installed is an insane level of infrastructure and would require a fundamental redesign on how literally all these vehicles work AND massively increase cost. Pick them all up and impound them then Fine Lime for it, maybe then they’ll take some responsibility dor these things. If there is pavement near a car parking spot and you park there, you cannot argue that you have parked in a designated area. The app should include a parking limit to match the capacity of the designated parking spot for these bikes. The bike app itself is what has the boundaries set, when attempting to end your ride it will notify you that you cannot end unless you’re stopped in the designated location.
