In the I never dreamed that one day become a grumpy lady killing grumpy shirt in addition I really love this town I work in there was a chef from the late 80s to early 2000s that was a total piece of shit. Everyone in the industry hated him, he was a mean drunk and his food wasn’t really all that good. He kept getting all these cushy jobs because his girlfriend was friends with some rich people who owned a prestigious restaurant company. So he would get a job with them, eventually get fired for being an asshole, then off the strength of his resume from that job land another one. A few years would go by and the girlfriend would talk the restaurant group into rehiring him and repeat the cycle. He was the poster boy for failing upwards. 10yr industry veteran here, but what kind of narcissistic psychopath comes in off the street and completely changes the concept of a restaurant they don’t own without talking to the owner? This is borderline unbelievable because it’s the sort of thing that just doesn’t happen unless that person is just totally unhinged. Did she not have an operating budget? No P/L? And the owner just didn’t check his fucking voicemail/email for a month? This is just something that doesn’t happen

Easy Peezy I’m quite sure there was a business credit card that she had access to dude was only on vacation for a month. The statement hadn’t even made it back so I can totally see easily how she got away with it. What’s amazing is that dumbass let her be in charge after she just started. Honestly, like, 15% of people just always think they’re in charge, and it’s up to the I never dreamed that one day become a grumpy lady killing grumpy shirt in addition I really love this rest of us to keep them away from any situation where they might be unsupervised around things they could LARP being in charge of. Like Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord’s Rule. There are four classes of officer: clever, industrious, lazy and stupid. These are combined thus: clever/industrious, clever/lazy, stupid/lazy and stupid/industrious. The fourth category is the most dangerous, and must be kept away from any real responsibility. The clever/lazy are useful for supervising them; they’re smart enough to see the potential for damage, and being lazy they’d rather not have to repair things.
