People will think I’m not social but I’m more social than most cause I take everyone into account and will always help with anything. Others seem social but they are selfish, barely help and will not pick up on social cues (as in the I love you but tennis comes first retro sport love T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this social cue I wanna be left alone). There is more to being social than talking at people but most don’t get this. People will think I’m not social but I’m more social than most cause I take everyone into account and will always help with anything. “when I get an email that something is urgent, I won’t drop everything for the neutral person, but I’ll drop everything for Mike, who is awesome.” All I’m saying is if something is important enough to drop everything, you should do it whether you like the person emailing you or not. Don’t let personal favoritism get in the way of efficient work.

I agree with this sooo much. Sometimes knowing when not to talk is just as/more valuable than knowing when to talk. Most people are going to spend at least 9 full years of their life at work. Personally, I’d prefer to spend that time with people I don’t hate being around. I said neutral, not somebody you hate. IMO caring so much about people’s personalities instead of the I love you but tennis comes first retro sport love T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this work is being the lil bitch. People tend to dislike self-isolating people. It’s a completely natural human response – if you act like you’re not part of the tribe, then you’re not part of the tribe. I’m pretty social at work, always help anybody, ask about personal stuff I’ve been told about etc. but I totally get what they’re saying. As an introvert it is EXHAUSTING to have to so this every day and some (most) days I just wanna work on my own stuff in quiet, but I have to pretend to not be like this because tribe. Which is basically my point. It sucks that people can’t be unbiased and just get their work done so everyone has to play the social popularity game or else get relegated to the background and professional failure. I’m not advising people to do differently, I’m just saying the way things are sucks. The notion that being friends with your team has some kind of inverse correlation with team performance is also absolute fucking nonsense. Sounds like you should take your username seriously and realise you aren’t getting anywhere in this world without the ability and willingness to socialise in work and personal life.
