If you are a non-citizen, all assets you own in another country are only yours so long as the I Love My Mom Snoopy Mom shirt but in fact I love this government allows it to be yours. This is why a lot of rich people either rent their yachts and private planes or buy them under a company located in that country. This way they can not be seized without going through the courts. Civil asset forfeiture is theft, plain and simple. It assumes guilt, then requires the victim to prove his innocence to have his property returned. Complete perversion of our legal system. While I understand it’s to help Ukraine. Which I’m all for. I’d like to own a super yacht. I’ll give you $9.38. Take it or leave it. Not a fan of Russia or Putin (of course) but where the hell is the “due process” here? Can you just take people’s property legally because you think they’re assholes and you don’t like their friends? Why should The State have this power??

US politicians shouldn’t speak on questionable wealth. They’re insider traders who still refuse to pass a law barring them from trading. Now do American oligarchs, but instead of supplying missies just do something like universal healthcare…or UBI…..or tuition free college Anyone who buys confiscated property risks that one day the I Love My Mom Snoopy Mom shirt but in fact I love this deprived owner will contrive to take it back, Be Very Afraid. Fuck Russia, but honestly, I don’t understand how it could be “legal” to take someone’s stuff and sell it because… There rich people from an other country? Fuck em. But it is just a little worrying that the government apparently can take your stuff. Like in principle. Good thing we are allowing the sale of personal property for reasons. No way giving the government this ability will backfire at all. These oligarchs just kept on partying like a war wasn’t happening I guess, should have gone back to the motherland before getting seized It would cool if we could fix our roads first, half the country is in a drought and it’s not even summer…maybe that one?
