Nuclear waste is a completely different thing dude, do you even know what your talking about? Yes i wouldn’t mind to have a wind turbine near me (everywhere around me are some), a coal mine nah not really but it doesn’t kill the I like pizza and maybe three people vintage pizza T-Shirt moreover I will buy this environment for more then 200.000 years, to put that in perspective, humans are existing for 300.000 years. People really think that when there’s a shelter for nuclear waste that everything is alright but it isn’t, you don’t know what will happen in 1000 years to the shelter. I’ll keep on watching the Facebook page “Is Germany producing greener energy than France today?” for an update on the situation, but not expecting any change in the next few decades. Edit: Any downvoters are welcome to explain how is grams of CO2 / 1kWh not a relevant metric we all should strive to bring down. The numbers are manipulated due to rising costs to the consumers and the imported energy used but not accounted for. This “green movement” is going to be a collosal failure and probably one of the best smoke screens ever used in history.

Except for the I like pizza and maybe three people vintage pizza T-Shirt moreover I will buy this price, the risk and that you still have to dig up the earth to get to the fission materials. Solar / wind energy is cheaper and safer. You have to get your materials as well, but unlike nuclear it’s a one time investment (same for energy storage). That’s a false premise. Electricity gets traded because of price, not because otherwise the grid would collapse. (There are exceptions of course like last Summer with France.) If it’s cheaper to import from a neighbour with excess electricity than to start up an additional gas power plant than that’s what’s going to happen. And a few hours later it could be the other way around because the wind started blowing and now your electricity is cheaper.
