They’re 100% profiting from it. Most people don’t realize that even if the company/store legitimately donated the money YOU contributed, THEY get to receive the tax deduction. I refuse to donate through grocery/corporate stores ever since I found out they use them as their own tax write-offs I read somewhere that they already did donate, you are just paying them back when it asks you to round up that extra 20 cents or whatever Worst part is that the company uses your donation as a tax write off to just increase their profit margin. So you’re basically giving free money to the company. And most donations to charities don’t actually go towards the cause, but rather towards their overhead/admin/salary costs. It’s a tax cut, they can say that they donated X amount and have shit loads of tax write offs in return… I’m pretty sure that’s how it works at least they do donate $20 to end child hunger… they ask you to supply the money, then they make the donation and get the tax write off! it’s brilliant

Here’s the I have two titles Mom and Grandam and I’m Blessed by both shirt Furthermore, I will do this thing, these corporations have already donated and are now relying on the customers to “repay” the donation and in the end probably end up profiting off it. The actually claim the full amount and get a deduction for the full amount. Notice how you never get a tax receipt? They pool all that money together and make a donation, in THE COMPANY NAME. By doing that, they can claim it on taxes as a “write off”, thereby lowering how much they pay in taxes. And you know when they do donate to any charity they are getting donations for the donations go down as if the company donated that money… B.S.. also a tax write off..America corporation So not only are you out $20, but they’re paying less in taxes to support the community they’re grifting to begin with. Never donate in the name of a company. Always in your name, always in a way you can get your own tax credit with if you decide to itemize. Best part is the money likely never gets used for what they claim AND the company collecting your donation gets a tax write-off with your money!! Nah, that’s not how they use these for their advantages. You’re a wealth and corporate apologist for corruption.
