When I’m at a ballgame I always get peanuts and a beer, and some peanut shells always drop in the beer and I love the taste. I always wanted to do some kind of peanut infused beer but I’m not sure if that’s possible.You could probably achieve something similar using a bourbon with a heavy peanut note out of the Jim Beam family. Something like Old Tub or Knob Creek. Then you’d need less of a wash to begin with. Just a suggestion if you plan to keep reworking this.How does one go about infusing the flavor of cracker jacks? (I assume the fat-wash was just a bit of peanut oil in the bourbon overnight and then into the freezer to separate them)How was it? Can’t say it sounds super appetizing, but might be one of those things where all those ingredients come together to make something great.

Either way, it’s a home run for theming!It was good, the I Have Gone 0 Days Without Making A Dad Joke Fathers Day Retro T-Shirt moreover I love this flavors worked (as the bitters combo bridged the sweet vs bready lager flavors as expected) but my infusions need to be tweaked a bit. Think I overwashed the bourbon (which was at least partially by design, as I wanted to ensure the peanut stayed prevalent after the CJ infusion) and over-infused with the Cracker Jack. It delivered on its flavor promise, if nothing else. I’m going to restir with swapping a little overproof in with the main pour, to balance out a bit.Needs more ballpark frank. You could go the over the top Bloody Mary route and garnish with a whole weiner, or at least a little smokey on a pick. Alternatively I’d split the lager syrup with simple made from Takeru Kobayashi’s leftover hotdog dipping water from Nathan’s Famous 4th of July Hotdog Eating Contest. It’s the only obvious choice.I really wanted to incorporate a hot dog element somehow haha. If I had those pigs in blankets handy, there would’ve been a REALLY obnoxious garnish…The flavors worked for sure, and gave me roughly the experience I was going for. I was a little too heavy on the infusions though, so your own mileage may greatly vary.Not sure if anyone else mentioned or not, but The Aviary did a similar Cracker Jack drink, although it may have been a different style entirely. “Prize Inside” if you’re curious.You must go to nicer ballparks than I do. Jokes aside, this is super interesting and a delightful presentation with the cracker jack.
