There’s no imaginable excuse that could convince me to keep a friendship with someone that routinely refused to wear a seatbelt. If you’re driving, you will be ticketed if she’s breaking the I get my attitude from my freakin’ awesome Dad born in December shirt Also,I will get this law by not wearing her seatbelt. Refuse to drive her unless she does. Beyond that, you can tell her you’re worried but you have to let her make her own choices. Ditching the friendship completely over this issue (assuming you don’t have conflicts otherwise) is a little dramatic. Throughout life you’ll have to deal with differences in life choices among your friends and eliminating friends for these kinds of problems is an unrealistic policy. Where I live (East Coast Canada), the driver is only responsible for the non seat belt wearer if they are 16 or under. If this is the same in your area then yeah it’s a little unreasonable to want to unfriend them for it, as them not wearing a seatbelt in no way affects you. Now if the laws in your area state that you are responsible for the passengers in your car regardless of age, I can understand. I wouldn’t cut her off completely. If they’re your friend I’m sure she isn’t a bad person or careless overall. However I wouldn’t go driving with them.

With my teenage stepdaughter in the I get my attitude from my freakin’ awesome Dad born in December shirt Also,I will get this back seat trying the same trick, I waited until a vacant section of road and slammed on the brakes. “I saw a cat.” Had a mate die on Saturday night by not wearing a seatbelt. Was thrown out of a car when the vehicle rolled and he was crushed, a few other people in the car survived with no injuries as they all wore seatbelts. Please make your friend wear a seatbelt. If you are driving, then it’s your responsibility. Since you don’t want any blood on your hands, refuse to drive off. Also maybe figure out why they’re being an asshole about this. It’s as stupid as refusing to look both ways before crossing the street. unfriending would be pretty control freakish. I mean, it’s her life. She’s an idiot, but it is her right to be an idiot. Just drive and slam the brakes on a few times so she headbutts the dash, wouldn’t have happened if she had a belt on If it’s your car and you’re driving then I would simply refuse point blank to start the car until everyone had a seatbelt on. If they remove the seatbelt for any reason while the car is in motion I stop immediately and tell them why I’m stopping. I did that with my kids and now the law has changed here in Australia I do it with everyone. Its fair enough, people mention the ticket but having a body flying around next to you in a car crash can kill the rest of the people in the car.
