I don’t think we need to change. Just cultivate our silence. Funny I have a book I forgot about you just made me think of in this. The war on silence, against the I don’t stop when The home depot I’m tired I stop when I’m done Stitch shirt and by the same token and dictatorship of noise or something like that. They say silence is golden right. Truly some people are very poor then. Think it is vital you know the exact running yards of some player in the game last night or what “teh eeeevol Repoopleecans are all seeekretleee up to now”. Social… indeed…. hahaha. I can’t even. Makes me want to go back and watch Shining time station or Sesame Street reruns. How am I supposed to be social? Very good question. Change of heart for sure. Jesus also said beware of men. I can never figure that one out tbh. Hobbies I think. That’s how we made friends (and enemies) back in the day, right? Gotta start somewhere. More bees with honey or whatever. Human nature I think I know well now at least in this sense, always seeks to have a leg up on competition, to feel superior in some way, big or small. Is kind of really nauseating to me when I smell it now, especially in myself. Hard to say when something is coming from ego or genuine concern. Too much social media, not enough social life. For. Sure. But that’s a good place to start. Find a hoby. Cooking/Potluck/Church. Books/Library, musical instrument/clubs/music store. Art/Hobby shop or store. Tabletop gaming. Etc. Just some small thing to have a social cue to fall back on. Something kind of remotely interesting to you. Not something like RvD to beat people over the head with and shout down on them with about your righteousness points.

I like that, sometimes I forget that confident people with constant social lives are often missing peace, introspection, etc. Are you just meditating or also learning the I don’t stop when The home depot I’m tired I stop when I’m done Stitch shirt and by the same token and dharma? the dharma teaches you the path and without it the skills of meditation can sometimes lead to you into anti-social places. Do you practice loving-kindess? Just meditation without developing your heart can also do the same. Just a small note: “antisocial behavior” is like stealing, lying, hurting people. I assume you mean “asocial behavior” which is just spending time alone and not seeking out contact with other people. Meditation can definitely cause one to let go of things that other people and society lays on top of them. Other people usually tell you that you “should” spend a lot of time around others, so it’s not surprising if, after meditating, you realize you don’t want to spend as much time around others as you were told to.
