I posit that the shift back to mostly land created the physical conditions that make childbirth more difficult. idk. i couldn’t tell u besides the known fact that we just haven’t evolved to be able to birth in a more effective way. considering the baby is held inside the womb in the uterus i don’t see how else we’d evolve to get it out. this makes most sense. women dying from childbirth could be due to a lottttt of things and who’s to say anytime down the line we’d ever evolve into not dying from it at all. most complications that cause death from childbirth are treatable and some are conditions the mother already had. death is often preventable for the mother. i just don’t see how evolution would be able to ever evolve us in a way that death from childbirth is never possible. women’s bodies are so different and it’s internal conditions and complications that kill the mom

A woman’s body won’t be able to hold a baby and deliver it safely so babies will be created in artificial wombs. Also birth isnt always that truamatic honestly. I think people really overplay how truamatic it is. Having gone through it myself (Im a trans man) I know from first hand experience its a lot less truamatic than the movies suggest. Because God said so. To the woman he said, ‘I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.’ Genesis 3:16 There’s one way we can help evolution solve this. Anyone who was in pain giving birth gets unalive. Eventually “natural” selection will get rid of painful birth.
