I recently paid $10 in convenience fees at AMC to buy tickets online instead of purchasing tickets at the I Didn’t Run Away This Time T-Shirt and I will buy this theater. Doesn’t purchasing tickets online allow them to save money on having less employees run the ticket booth? I get that it costs them money to run a website but $10 for a convenience fee? It just isn’t justified. $10 dollar football game and it’s a $2 surcharge per ticket. The worst part: they don’t let you pay by card anymore at the gates. I make my partner pay our rent because my blood boils when I see the convenience charged even though it is small… I hate it. I’m happily married to my wife and we were content to do something special just the two of us, maybe spend a couple of grand and treat ourselves a little bit to something amazing.

Cue the I Didn’t Run Away This Time T-Shirt and I will buy this families getting involved and before you know it we’re spending closer to twenty grand on one day and feeding a bunch of people I’ve not heard of before or since the wedding. My wife and I were recently married and our entire wedding, reception, and honeymoon costed about $7,000. We made a couple people very upset when we didn’t invite them. Sorry dude, you aren’t one of the people we felt especially close to and now everyone knows why. if everyone learned how to mend/alter garments in school, and value was placed on investing in a few quality made items instead of a closet full of disposable fast fashion, there would be wayyyy less clothing in landfills and wayy less demand for chemical laden garments to be cranked out in sweatshops. our relationship to clothing is so warped. I think the most ironic thing is the fast fashion industry popularizing the “vintage look”. So you’re paying a major company to make you outdated clothes because you want the hip clothes now, rather than just going to thrift stores and doing it yourself.
