Got triggered immediately in the I am a simple woman judo and wine flower shirt Also,I will get this first half and almost missed the sarcasm. Really great rollercoaster of a ride there. I mean… why would an employer want someone working for them an entire year without knowing what they’re doing? Training is more beneficial for the employer than the employee… Yep. My last job was such a fucking shitshow of no training, being bullied to do things outside the job description, being yelled at for mistakes (and blamed for my asshat boss’ mistakes) and not allowed to ask questions so that I could learn, etc., etc. My new job is the opposite so far. I’ve gotten training (including a manual and other materials I can refer to), no one yelled at me or got upset when I made a mistake or had to ask questions, when I said no to something outside the job description they apologized and took care of it rather than trying to bully me into doing it, etc. I haven’t been there long, so I haven’t seen how payroll is (I get paid monthly), but considering the level of organization I have seen and the procedure in the manual, it looks like it probably won’t be a repeat of having to remind my former boss to pay me every damn payday and then him pretending that I am being unreasonable in doing that (my former boss absolutely was going to leave without giving me a cheque multiple times and claiming that he couldn’t do direct deposit because of some stupid lie…he was such an ass). I am cautiously optimistic. It is at least better than my previous job, anyway, and I was out of work for a while, so I have to stay here for a while.

Four weeks seems like plenty of time. Depending where you are, two weeks is customary. You could have quit without any notice at all. They should consider themselves lucky you gave that much notice. This is one of my biggest pet peeves in the I am a simple woman judo and wine flower shirt Also,I will get this workforce. I’m expected to give proper notice to an employer who can proudly let me go without any notice? And as if my 2-4 weeks even means a damn when they’ve been “short-staffed and unable to find people to work” for months already. This is probably an European situation. In Europe we find it pretty weird that in the US you can be fired and forced to quit your job in that very same day. The opposite side is that you can’t also quit willy nilly. Most people end up using their vacation days to quit earlier, but it is common to have to work for up to 2 months after you officially quit.
