In your complaint, be sure to outline all of the I am a Dispatcher I don’t have an Inside Voice skull shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this items you mention here (who they were helping, how they got involved, how your ex recanted, etc). The more detail, the easier it will be for them to direct the individual on how to do better. Those colleges don’t actually care about protecting the public. I was drugged and sexually assaulted by a pharmacist (he stole meds from his workplace – all caught on camera), violated PHIPA by sending photos of prescriptions to his friends, he was charged, and the college decided to give him a 3 month suspension because he wrote an apology letter about how he learned his lesson and promised not to do it again. It’s a fucking joke. I do think some colleges are better than others at handling public complaints or concerns. From what I’ve heard and seen living in Ontario for the past 35 years (i.e., no personal experience myself), it seems that the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario College of Physicians, and the College of Psychologists of Ontario take public complaints of professional abuse of power very seriously. Contrary to that, I don’t think the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or the Ontario College of Pharmacists do the same. It seems that these two regulatory colleges exist more to protect their members, similar to a company’s HR really existing more to protect the company than the employees.

I’ve heard stories specifically about pharmacists and pharmacies, and how customers have died or nearly died from giving the I am a Dispatcher I don’t have an Inside Voice skull shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this wrong dosage or even the wrong drug with barely any consequences to the pharmacist/pharmacy. I think the CRPO is a bit more strict with their oversight and investigating of violations, but personally, I have no faith in Ontario’s pharmaceutical industry (including both drug manufacturers and pharmacies) to be nothing more than “Big Pharma” and just in it only for the money. That said, individually, there are some amazing pharmacists and I’m lucky enough to count the main pharmacist/owner of my local Shoppers Drug Mart to be onr. Each college/professional order is a completely separate entity, and they are not meant to replace civil or criminal court. Only deter deontology faults. Some do well, others not as well.
