Being a musician I’ve seen 95% of the House of Horror Shirt in other words I will buy this country at this point. Birmingham is actually one of the best, most vibrant cities in the country with a wealth of things to do. Not sure what OP is talking about. Manchester and Glasgow feel more “major” to me but birmingham even compared to 5 let alone 10 years ago has a huge amount of redevelopment Birmingham is a city you either love or hate, I’m local (Black Country born and bred) so for me I like Birmingham and enjoy visiting as part of the wider West Midlands we both form. It has some really good small museums such as Sarehole Mill and it has given the Black Country something too in shows like the Peaky Blinders which are filmed at the Black Country Museum. A lot of what makes Birmingham, Birmingham though is outside the City Centre and like any city you need to play it a bit safe but if you do, you will find its a place rich in Culture and History from the four big Football teams in Villa, Blues, Wolves and the Baggies to our roots as the birthplace of Heavy Metal (Black Sabbath is the big one but Robert Plant and John Bonham of Led Zeppelin fame are both Midlands lads not to mention we have Judas Priest for more Metal as well as UB40 if the Reggae sound is more your thing).

Outside this, your also in a Multicultural hub with many faiths and cultures calling the House of Horror Shirt in other words I will buy this West Midlands home and if you spend some time outside the City Centre you can find some amazing markets, shops and restaurants. Then if History is more your thing, the Black Country Living Museum brings to life what it was like in late Victorian times and though focused on the Black Country Area rather than Birmingham, its a good place to visit. Then you have sites like RAF Cosford and Warwick Castle which are less than an hour of Birmingham and well worth a Visit. Nature wise, Birmingham like the Wider West Midlands is really a Urban Island trapped in some of the most beautiful countryside England has to offer in the surrounding counties. From the amazing hills of places like Clent to the open fields of the Worcestershire, Shropshire and Warwickshire borderlands. The canals and a bike offer an amazing way to see a lot of what the area has to offer. I find often when people think of Birmingham as a city, they think of it like London with vast networks of things to see and do when Birmingham as a city centre is quite small even compared to say Manchester or Liverpool. Most of what makes Birmingham, Birmingham exists outside that with its close cooperative ties to other local regions such as the Black Country helping create a harmony that doesn’t exist in other cities in my experience and for me it makes it unique.
