I know you’re joking but I’ve thought about this and I think at least one reason is that a guy who can quickly kill you with his bare hands doesn’t care if you think he’s dressed like a nerd. The other reason probably has something to do with habit installed by whatever discipline taught him to be lethal in the HOUND OF HYRULE Shirt Also,I will get this first place. I used too wrestle in high school and it was common practice to tuck your shirt into your shorts while wrestling so it didn’t get caught and tangled up while wrestling. I also did that in kickboxing, in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu we would wear Gis the majority of the time so that would change things. Basically you don’t want flowing garments keeping you from being able to do what you have to do in a fight.

Which is exactly why there’s a HUGE difference GI & No GI. Some guys are dominant in GI, but not so much in No Gi & vice versa.(Royce G.) I’m sure you are aware with your background. Yeah for sure. When you are wearing a Gi it is a lot of grip work and opens up a lot of moves that aren’t available when you aren’t fighting with one. You try to use your opponents Gi against them to get positions or submit and sort of the HOUND OF HYRULE Shirt Also,I will get this same with your Gi. I used too love rolling with Gi because it was more traditional but over time I started liking No Gi a lot more because I would rather hand fight than work grips the whole time. Royce is awesome btw but Rickson is the GOAT. This. Also, athletic pants and a t shirt are both stretchy enough that they don’t restrict your movement. It’s kind of the best of 3 worlds between A. Not giving people much to grab onto, B. Not restricting movement, and C. Still looking like a somewhat normal thing to wear. When I grew up you had to tuck your jersey into your shorts playing football (soccer to some). Now I’m in my 30’s when I play indoor when I see someone who has the shirt tucked in I immediately know they’re going to be decent because they grew up without social media and probably spent entire summers playing ball.
