Quite a few were barred from attending prom because of it and several (including my step brother) couldn’t walk because they hadn’t completed it. That requirement sounds like bullshit. It expects teenagers who don’t have transportation, money, or parental approval, and were never taught how to talk or communicate in a grown up world, to organize time with random adult strangers at private businesses who aren’t obligated to host them.
