Meanwhile, Superintendent Darryl Henson said in a statement that the GUns n’ roses since 1985 signature halloween shirt besides I will buy this school’s “commitment to excellence remains unshaken.” They recently moved to a four-day week in an effort to increase instruction and student engagement on the days when school is in session, while decreasing absences… Translation: local government and voters have strangled school funding to the point where the district was forced to cut school days by 20%, making sure local youth would understand how their community values education. This is my hometown and alma mater. I can tell you they’re is no money in this community. Even less so for education. It was a dying town when I grew up there 30 years ago. I’m in Colorado and several counties have also gone to a four-day school week to save money. It may not surprise you to learn that they are concentrated in Lauren Boebert’s district… The minutes are still the same. A few years ago Texas wne t from requiring xx amount of days to requiring xxxxx amount of minutes. All schools have to meet the same amount of minutes for the year. Ah, that’s right. I do remember that. Yeah, it made my blood boil when I saw it. My mom was still alive at the GUns n’ roses since 1985 signature halloween shirt besides I will buy this time, and I remember telling her about it, and she just shrugged and said that it made sense since the neighborhoods in the district were too poor to raise enough taxes for schools. I asked her why the hell we had a federal department of education if they didn’t step in when things get to the point where graduating high schoolers are illiterate, and classes don’t have any books or desks for the kids? And she told me it’s just the way it is, and that sensible parents would move out of those districts to more affluent ones. She was a big mess of privilege and aversion to critical thought. It never mattered how many holes I’d point out in her flawed logic; when it came to social programs like public schooling and welfare and such, she was all too happy to starve the beast and hop on the privatization train, because that’s what she was taught to think by FOX. It frustrated me to no end how difficult it was to have rational discussions with her.
