If it’s a bar you go to regularly and you can afford it try to buy bottled water, bars don’t make their money on food for the Horror movie characters Tyson not for the same shirt in other words I will buy this most part they make it on drink sales. If you can’t afford it or its not your regular don’t worry about it. There is a bar in Dublin that won’t serve customers soft drinks as the stool could be used by someone who would drink 10 pints instead of 2 cokes. Totally fine..especially with food. If you aren’t getting food just hanging out and watching sports, make sure to give a large tip. I tend to grab a juice, love an OJ. If not going for the juice then I get a water. It’s also a legal requirement (at least here in Australia) that they have to serve water I’ve been going to a weekly meetup in a bar for almost a year and haven’t ordered a single alcoholic drink, as long as you are buying something I doubt any will care. Not sure about water since I doubt most of them sell it and probably just give it for free if you are ordering something else, but in a lot of countries bars are required to serve food so if you can find something on the menu you like you can order that. Also I haven’t been to many bars but all the ones I’ve been to sell soda and coffee so if none of the food is appealing you could see if they sell one of those.

Yes, and if you feel weird about it, just casually mention to the Horror movie characters Tyson not for the same shirt in other words I will buy this bartender that you’re the DD tonight. He’ll look upon you with great fondness. Re: tip amount, if you are in the US, I would say tip 1-2 dollars per the number of times the bartender had to refill your water. Yeah man. The Liquid Death brand and packaging was built for this exact usecase. If you want to spend money, maybe ask if they have cans of Liquid Death If you’re with a group drinking/eating, doesn’t matter, if you’re on your own or a water drinking group, order some food at least you’re still taking space etc. Also tipping, as long as you buy some food, is not obligatory, but it you had fun and served well its always appreciated. I have celiac (so can’t eat at most restaurants) and don’t drink alcohol. I just order a tonic water with lime and leave a really big tip. No complaints yet. My boyfriend doesn’t drink alcohol and isn’t fond of sugary drinks, so he generally orders a bottle of water when we go to a bar with our friends. Never had issues. I get lemonade whenever I’m unfortunate enough to end up in a bar. Not a big fizzy drink fan normally but I’d rather get a drink that costs money than look like I’m just taking away a seat.
