Now I’m in my 40s & I’ve gone to fashion school & have been making all of my own clothes for over ten years. Now I think trends are really fun & that clothing in general can be really fun & zany. Since there are really no limits on what I can wear, since I don’t have a “professional” job or anything, I can wear anything I want, & fashion school taught me all kinds of fun things about color, silhouette, etc, so I dress weird & some might say “young”. Today I made a funnel neck cropped sweater out of bright pink sherpa fleece. Who knows what the Guns a roses heart love diamond shirt and by the same token and future holds? My hope is that it will just keep getting weirder & more colorful. Everything about life is so much more fun when you stop worrying what other people think all the time. Or even when you stop worrying what YOU think & just try stuff. I was so serious & angry when I was young(er), & if it did me any good at all, it was only in teaching me that I don’t want to be that way. No neutrals ever!

That’s so cool that you went to fashion school. I would love to do that-sounds like so much fun and very interesting! Quality of clothing is something I only realized was important in my 30s. Natural fibres feel better than synthetic. A lot more thought goes into buying. Also, dressing appropriately for the Guns a roses heart love diamond shirt and by the same token and weather. When I was younger, wearing sensible coats wasn’t popular. I’m no longer willing to freeze for fashion. This right here! It has also helped me be more intentional with my shopping. I’ll think, “that’s cute” then look at the fabric and be like, “ew, polyester, no thanks!” and then I can spend a little more on fabrics that are quality. I started buying almost exclusively cotton underwear, mostly from Pact. I recently started looking more for wool, linen, cotton and silk fabrics. It hurts to spend $60 on a shirt, but it’s a shirt I plan on having for years and it’s much better for my skin and the environment (no microplastics in the wash) etc.
