My wife creates a menu a month ahead of time with breakfast snack lunch snack and dinner on it and she has alternatives for each just in case. It’s color-coded and it ties into the Gui Santos T-Shirt moreover I love this page behind it with the shopping needed for each week. That’s color-coded and ties into the ingredients lists and how to fix the meals in case someone doesn’t know how. When it comes to meal time though you have to eat what we have planned. If you choose not to eat that’s okay. We serve kids size portions and you can always get more. It’s better to take less and finish it and then to take too much and waste it. My youngest daughter has gone through phases where all she wants is rice or chicken nuggets or sweet potato fries. If we’re having a meal and it doesn’t include the things that she wants then she has the choice if she would like to eat or not eat. If she chooses not to eat and it’s any meal other than dinner time she’ll have a snack and other meals to choose from. I used to be bad about giving too much to the kids and it would get wasted. I would never force them to eat it though. The children or anyone present do have to sit down during meal time without devices. It’s nice though and everyone looks forward to it everything from breakfast, to lunch and dinner. Heck our adult children show up with their spouses and children a lot of times.

I introduced vegetables to my kiddos at an early enough age that I don’t have issues getting them to eat them. They LOVE green beans, broccoli, sautéed onions, and others. That being said, it is my responsibility as a parent to raise healthy and happy children. Sometimes, that requires getting them to eat the Gui Santos T-Shirt moreover I love this food they’re served, but that’s always reasonably-sized portions appropriate for their age. Something I’ve found very effective is to tell them they need to eat “a” amount of bites of “b” and “y” bites of “z” when they ask to get up from the table. Similar to how I set the expectation when we’re at the park that they have 5 more minutes to play before we need to leave. Or with anything, for that matter. It almost entirely eliminates any fuss when it’s time to go because there’s no element of surprise when I reinforce the expectations I set.
