This is good of course, but the Groovy it’s good day to read book library reading lovers shirt moreover I love this forced birthers will sue and then guess who gets to decide if it is Constitutional? The same folks who overturned it in the first place saying that there is no mention of abortion in the Constitution. Just so you all know, politicians and judges all live in the real world. You might wait on their table, make their food, valet their cars, mow their lawns and they depend on the working class. There’s plenty of opportunity to talk to them about how wrong they are about this ruling. How does it work with what the states have the power to do vs what the federal govt has the power to do? How do they draw the line at what the state can and can’t do and how are they allowing this for roe v wade? “The time is past when the right wing movement believes that the courts have the power to decide the meaning of constitutional rights.”

(1) Unlikely that Manchin/Sinema would join this effort; (2) the Groovy it’s good day to read book library reading lovers shirt moreover I love this law has nearly no chance of survival before the same SCOTUS that just overturned Roe. A better idea is that we should all be sending Justice Thomas McDonald’s gift cards and boxes of Dunkin’ Donuts to his office every morning. Can someone who knows more about this than me tell me how codifying it would override the supreme court’s decision if they fully overturn it and find it unconstitutional? Oh, the party of teen sex traffickers and marital rape want to make women broodmares to the State? What a surprise. I remember it was only a few years ago they lied to our face and told us that was just the radical fringe in the GOP. It won’t happen. Even without the filibuster, it wouldn’t get 50 votes. The filibuster is actually a high-value tool now, because if Republicans take power again they won’t be able to pass a blanket federal abortion ban (or in the wildly unlikely event they did pass a law, it would just be repealed once Republicans take power again). As rage-inducing as it will be to many, letting the States decide will keep abortion available more than any realistic federal attempt. If people really want a right to abortion, it’s going to have to come through a Constitutional Amendment, through use of a Constitutional Convention. If this is about elections, why would a conservative SCOTUS make this ruling that will help Democrats electorally?
