Oh yeah that will never happen. If anything, the Happy 4th of halloween easter c’mon man you know the thing shirt in other words I will buy this opposite is likely to happen with the “non partisan hack” SCOTUS WAY too late – especially for this Congress. Are you watching in a blank stare as Democracy is slipping away? As institutional rot from within & despicable filth are so blatantly shown off? Ya snooze, ya lose. It’s not a good plan. To do that would mean eliminating the filibuster, which means it would just get banned and then unbanned again back and forth everytime there’s a different party in control. Honest question – if SCOTUS overturns Roe, wouldn’t they also find any law attempting to codify the principles of Roe to also be unconstitutional? Wouldn’t the law immediately get challenged and ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS?

Immediately challenged? Yes. Unconstitutional? Maybe. We need to see official opinion first. But congress could try something like, if you ban abortions, you get cut off from federal funds. Congress did that with alcohol age limit, and that’s been upheld as constitutional. (This is only reason the Happy 4th of halloween easter c’mon man you know the thing shirt in other words I will buy this 21 age limit is in every state) So there’s ways for Congress to make abortions legal that would still pass constitutional muster. Of course, when congressional make up changes, those laws could end up changing. 21 year alcohol age limit isn’t controversial like abortion. How is it that the US is simultaneously obsessed with states’ rights, and also with being a powerful united country? So contradictory. All the rage in this post is justified, but, historically speaking, not many people will vote in 2022 or for that matter 2024. Easy to complain online but sacrificing an hour or even up to an entire day to vote is not something Americans do. Abortion will soon be illegal and that’s a huge but predictable step backwards.
