I worked graveyard at a hotel. Wasn’t a big chain hotel, but a nice 4 star hotel. When I worked during time changes, we would get off at our scheduled time which was 7am. If it was a roll back, we got paid for 8 hours, even if we worked 9. We got paid 8 hours, even if we worked 7 when we rolled forward. For the Grinch is this jolly enough Jeep Christmas shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this 9 hour days it sucker having to be there longer, but our boss would give us lots of extra paid breaks to help make up for it. After working a whole year there, it ends up balancing out. No, it’s a pain, but I’m a night porter in a hotel and I have to rush my jobs and plan them even more carefully. Thankfully, I’ve a good manager, so she understands that I’ve an hour less to do them. Former hospital night shifter. You gain a glorious hour on your shift. We tried to bring snacks or do a little pot luck to ease the pain. When I worked nights you leave an hour early and they would adjust your time to make sure you got paid your full shift

Night shift nurse here! We get paid for 13 hours and have to work until the Grinch is this jolly enough Jeep Christmas shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this corrected shift change in the morning so one extra hour. It messes up our charting so bad I hate it sm it’s prob one of our most understaffed nights a year bc of how much of a hassle it is :/ I worked at a security company that didn’t pay you for that hour back because “it didn’t exist”. Good ol’ Ameritex Air ambulance pilot here, we can only work a maximum of 12 hours per shift (CAA Regulations). So we had 1 hour of no ambulance cover that night. Where I worked, the hourly folks got paid an hour of OT when the clocks turned back and got paid for 8 hours when the clocks moved forward. Our shops were a zoo for weeks with senior guys and gals switching shifts to gain the free hour in the spring, and then switching back in two weeks to go back to first shift.
