Since you brought up kids as a factor: Make sure you have life term insurance. Create a will now, which will also likely include creating a trust and identifying who will take care of your kids if you (and other parents) die. Taking care of that was very important for me. Learning about astronomy, and being close to death once or twice helped. Also may I recommend talks by Alan Watts? There’s a million on YouTube, and many on Death I don’t know if its something you can truly get over but it is definitely possible to find distractions. As someone who grew up with an intense fear of death, I’ve been able to find distractions that I’ve considered much worse than death like my severe social anxiety, world problems and working a low paying job. Not good distractions granted but in a way they help me see death as not such a bad thing. I mean not enough to end myself but still seeing it in a more positive light. No longer having to worry about the Grant Williams 12 Jump Shoot shirt and I love this world or your job or health issues. I’m dealing with the same fear. Sometimes it helps to remind myself that absolutely everyone dies, and if they can do it, I can do it.

I’m trying not to be so fixated on it, so every time it comes to my mind I remind myself that obsessing over it is unhelpful and that nothing constructive will come out of thinking about it right now. Then I try to distract myself. My grandfather was recently disconnected from Life Support. We’re talking less than a week ago. Honestly the Grant Williams 12 Jump Shoot shirt and I love this most stressful and fear-inducing part was the month leading up to my grandma and uncle making the decision where he was sedated but could still hear and communicate via hand squeezing, and the doctors trying different approaches to see if he would respond positively to any treatment whatsoever. It was delicate because you don’t want to inadvertently make him suffer any more than he already was. And emotionally you don’t want to jar him too much either so I, his siblings, my grandma’s siblings, my cousins all spaced out our goodbye visits beforehand by about a week or so each because knowing he could still hear makes it painfully aware for you that somewhere he is registering that he’s reached the end.
