In my experience, I was once on keto…. after a few weeks, I had all the Golden Retriever The Christmas Lights 2023 Shirt in contrast I will get this energy in the world. I finally understood where people get the motivation. On god, if you eat right, it gives you the energy to WANT to get up and do something. Then working out sounds more like fun than work. For me one of the reasons I like exercising is that I don’t have to be as careful about my diet. I can have a beer or eat desert and still look and feel good. Granted you can never outrun a bad diet but I am exercising for overall health, improved strength and stress relief not to look hot on the ‘gram. For much of my life I had little to no motivation to exercise. I took a lot of long walks, but I lived in San Francisco then, and walking a lot is just part of daily life. Formal, heart pounding exercise, weight lifting, even yoga classes — I was not interested in any of that. Then I moved out of state and met two great women who convinced me (ok, they bullied me) to join them for twice weekly 6 am HIIT classes at the neighborhood gym. I resisted for a while (I am NOT a morning person), then gave in. It was the best thing I ever did for myself.

I took classes with them for several years, then Covid hit and we moved our workouts outdoors, to the Golden Retriever The Christmas Lights 2023 Shirt in contrast I will get this park. We used the Nike app to structure our routines, and stuck with it year round, rain and cold be damned. This January, I rejoined the gym and now find that I’m completely self motivated. I go 3 to 4 times per week. I walk and run on the treadmill, I lift free weights, I do bodyweight exercises, I stretch, and I relax. I love being there. It’s MY time. I’m no hardbody, but at 48 I feel stronger than I did in my 30s. I look good in my clothes. My back doesn’t hurt, and I feel healthy. I’ve worked hard for this, and I don’t want to lose what I’ve built over these 8 years. Long story short: partnering up with a workout buddy, and being accountable to them and to myself, is what helped build and maintain my motivation. Get yourself p90x3 realize Rome wasn’t built in a day and just press play. Some days you don’t have the energy to work out as hard as other days. It gets easier you just have to build muscle it takes awhile.
