I’m 25 and I want to see the God knew I needed a best friend so he gave me my cat shirt in other words I will buy this world. I’m humble enough to know I won’t see every place, but I’ve never travelled outside my country (Canada). My family doesn’t have the money to travel, my partner isn’t a fan of it and doesn’t budget for these things, and my friends have no interest either. So, what do I do? How do I see the world while remaining safe? I’d love to see places in Europe, I feel that’s a great start and there’s just so many places to see there. I can keep going back or hop from place to place across a span of two weeks. P.S., feel free to share your favourite travels. I’m from a small town and anything, even something like NYC, fascinates me.I was around 26 when I realized most of my friends either a) didn’t like to travel, b) only traveled to resorts, or c) were not the best to travel with. My boyfriend at the time didn’t like to travel outside of going to resorts as well. It’s very easy to keep yourself safe. Just pick places you want to go, look up average violent crime against foreigners. Petty crime varies as well, but I’m less worried about it personally.

God knew I needed a best friend so he gave me my cat shirt: buy and enjoy this shirt
I never thought I’d be able to do it alone. Then when I was 20, I went on my first trip without ‘adult supervision’, with my best friend at the God knew I needed a best friend so he gave me my cat shirt in other words I will buy this time. We met a lot of solo travellers and it really opened my eyes. Two years later I was jetting off on my own – and I loved it! Now it’s my favourite way to travel, I get to do everything I want to when I want to, I can meet and hang out with a new group of people if I want to, don’t have to compromise on days out/places to eat. I even ended up living and working in Thailand for 3 years because I travelled alone. I’ve lived in Australia for the last 4, again because I travelled alone I was in the same situation as you when I was 25. Deciding to solo travel was the best decision I ever made. It’s an incredible feeling to be in a foreign place and just doing whatever you want.

Get this God knew I needed a best friend so he gave me my cat shirt

Was sort of in the God knew I needed a best friend so he gave me my cat shirt in other words I will buy this same boat as those guys never made plans, it all came down to me and they would complain if it wasn’t perfect. Now I’ve decided to not go with them again and look at their process of planning as a “disaster tourist” as we call that in our country :p I am a women. I’ve heard women-only hostels can be super fun and safe. I guess I’m just scared if I go alone I won’t enjoy it as much. There are groups online that go on trips together, some of them are little more expensive than you would pay but awesome people. I would suggest — as I do to anyone I know who is thinking about solo traveling — starting small first. So maybe a relatively short solo trip to somewhere in the US or to somewhere like Turks & Caicos or Costa Rica, both super popular (and safe) destinations for Canadians.
Another way to bridge into solo travel is to join a group tour, you’re traveling without partner or friends or family but you’re not on your own either. If that goes well, then that’s a good sign you will enjoy traveling solo. I’m not sure if you’re more introverted or extroverted, but for me – I found that I actually enjoyed things so much more by myself. What you don’t get from the God knew I needed a best friend so he gave me my cat shirt in other words I will buy this lack of company, you make up for with more freedom, time, and less consideration of others! And if you’re more extroverted, you’ll find you meet plenty of interesting people to talk to when you’re traveling alone. Without others, you can look more open for conversation to strangers. I believe I’m extroverted for sure, but I do have some imposter syndrome that I’d be bugging others. However, from what I’m reading on this sub, other solo-travellers seem quite friendly
