I worked one week then went on holiday for a week. My first week I arranged the God Is Dead Garfield The Cat Garfield Meme shirt and I love this next shift at the end of my current one, never told where / how to check the schedule. Woke up first day back from holiday to a voicemail asking where I was as I was scheduled to start at 6am. I worked my main job until 730 pm, M-F, and the info or schedule was passed on to the person as well as that I only worked on Sat and Sun only. Sure enough, after they posted their schedule that they did, I get a call in the middle of my main job shift asking me where I’m at. I tell them I’m at my main job and wondering why they are calling. They tell me I’m scheduled to work, and I was supposed to show up around 5 or so, and I tell them that’s impossible because I’m at my main job. They proceeded to give me shit, telling me I should have checked my schedule and that if I couldn’t work the shift, I should’ve told them. I told them my schedule hasn’t changed for the entire time I’ve been there (about 5 years at this point) as I gave them my availability and if it did, that’s on them to tell me so I can tell them I couldn’t work it anyway. This went on for a couple of weeks before it got resolved.

I hated this when I was an employee. Why when I got to become a manager I made sure to let everyone know beforehand of the God Is Dead Garfield The Cat Garfield Meme shirt and I love this schedule change. When I worked retail they posted the schedule and had me off on Sunday, a day I usually work. I figured, alright, sweet! Extra day off! I don’t need those 6hrs anyways. Came in on Monday and got reprimanded by the owner for not double checking with the manager. Like that’s on him for making the mistake. I was 17 at the time, and I’m not his babysitter Reminds me when I was 16 or 17 in High School working at a restaurant. I always had Sundays off, so I’d have time on the weekend to work on school projects, hang out with friends, etc because I’d usually work Friday night and most of Saturday. Anyways, one Sunday afternoon I get a call and the manager is asking me where I’m at. I tell him I’m off today, I’m always off Sunday’s but even then I checked the schedule earlier in the week to confirm I was off. He said I must have made a mistake because I was scheduled from 1-9 and if I don’t come in it’s a no-call no-show. I get in around 1:45 or so and there’s 3-4 other people there who are talking to the manager saying they know they had today off. Turns out, the restaurant got busier than expected so the manager just started calling people telling them they were scheduled and were missing their shift, and then penciled in on the schedule they were supposed to be working. Luckily a group of us reported it to the owner who was a really good dude, and he corrected the issue and it didn’t happen again.
