They offer me 3 options, all 2.5 hours away from where I’d originally booked. Two were top-floor apartments, and one was a studio cabin with no air conditioning.Reading that stressed me out for you. I cannot imagine how you must have been feeling. If I ever had an experience like that, I’d be done with AirBnB too. There are literally experiences every single week being posted here and on twitter and facebook of this happening. It’s just a nightmare now. I was cancelled on twice. By Superhosts. With several recent 5 star reviews. Out for nothing. Wasted precious vacation days. I could’ve just done without the Go phillies you’ll never walk alone abbey signature shirt and I will buy this goddamn kitchen for a few days to have real sanity when traveling. Airbnb is basically Craigslist Hotels, with zero accountability and zero guarantee of it working, like the McDonald’s ice cream machine.

I’m sure most stays are fine and support never needs to be contacted. But if anything goes sideways, getting help or being made whole by support is generally a screaming nightmare, takes a mind-boggling amount of time and requires so much work it’s basically a full time job. I’m not risking my precious vacation days on dealing with a feckless company whose support services leave guests and hosts stuck in untenable or dangerous situations for far too long and often leaves people utterly disgusted with the Go phillies you’ll never walk alone abbey signature shirt and I will buy this entire company forever. And rightly so. Is vrbo really any better? Most of the places on Airbnb are also cross posted on VRBO. You’re dealing with the same people just using a different platform.
