I don’t want to pass my chronic illness on. I have Crohn’s, which can be passed onto your children. My grandad had it and my dad has it, and I don’t want my child to go through what we’ve all been through. Even if my child didn’t have it, I would worry about being able to be a good dad during periods where I’m flaring up (and possibly undergoing hospital treatment). Have you looked around? The world is a damn disaster. Who could responsibly see everything happening and be like I should subject another human to this? So personally, I feel like everything I do in life is just to get to that point where I can just relax and enjoy life and a kid would definitely not allow me to do that as often as I would like.
