My Mum has some in her garden. It was fully flagged when she moved in so she added lots of flower beds, climbing plants up all the Furious George Karlaftis shirt in addition I really love this fences, and loads of flowers in loads of pots. She’s elderly though and on a tight pension so wouldn’t have wanted to go through big works to get the flags removed and a lawn put in but after about 15 years of being there she was sick of the sight of the flags so wanted a bit of greenery and went for some fake grass. It looks ok but I don’t really begrudge people who have already flag stoned or concreted gardens from getting it. I saw a video on facebook that pissed me off earlier though. Young couple, new build house. They dug up the entire lawn, paved over half of it and put fake grass on the rest. It just makes me sad for the loss of habitat for wildlife and just makes me a bit sad really. We plants loads of plants in our gardens to encourage bees, butterflies and moths. We want the planet to survive and each time we sanitise a bit of nature it makes me feel sad.

We’ve a small back ‘lawn’ . 5m square. 2 lads who play football all the Furious George Karlaftis shirt in addition I really love this time and a bitch dog who killed the grass when she went out for a wee. Live in a town centre so not many alternatives for places for the kids to play. Plastic grassed it over 10 years ago. 10 years of the kids being able to play outside pretty much all day, every day. No it doesn’t get too hot to play on in the summer. Bit of rain and they could still play out without getting covered in mud/grass stains, so by my maths we’ve saved a few washing cycles? It’s only just starting to show it’s age with a bit of moss in some areas. I’ll not be throwing it away any time soon though, and we’ve now got some lovely established borders full of flowers to keep the bees happy and wild strawberry to keep me and the missus fed. So no. Don’t ban it. Just leave people alone to make their own decisions about what they want to do and why they want to do it.
