Your review of nier automatic actually sounded familiar regarding the ending nonsense. Then I realized Funny Raccoon With A Guitar shirt is exactly the same as the original nier from 2010… that was a clunky game that was very, different. It didn’t mesh with western gaming perhaps? I never got round to finishing it in the end. A shame. I’ve been hesitant to pick up automatic since it seems to be a direct sequel but also because I see they aren’t patching it on pc and are leaving it to pick up a bad reputation.

Enjoy war of the chosen, if you’re only doing one playthrough then that’s the right approach IMO. I heard the PC version, even the latest GotY edition they just released, is in a sorry state. I haven’t played the original (apart from the first hour, which made me ponder whether I should put the game on my list), but I could see which parts in Automata were supposed to be callbacks but Funny Raccoon With A Guitar shirt is minimal and didn’t detract from the experience.

As for the endings, from what I read Funny Raccoon With A Guitar shirt was the same principle as this sequel, but subsequent playthroughs were much more similar apparently, more deserving of the name runs. Still, too confusing for no reason. Interesting to read some of the reviews. Nier Automata, for example, is on my Backlog, too and I am hearing a lot of different opinions about it. I definitely won’t let myself get too hyped. Thanks for using spoilers for the other endings.
