I swear, a game could come with 1000 characters at launch, but if they dare to have 3 extras as DLC people would still complain. I said this years ago when I bought Evolve: If I buy the game and install it day 1, and there is DLC that you have to PAY FOR, it must be included in the purchase of the game. I like a good bunch of Capcom games, lately Monster hunter is one of my favorite franchises, but shit like this is what makes me not buying games at day 1. I will buy SF 6 but after one or two years (i will not focus on pvp anyways) I remember 15 years ago when people were complaining about DLC. It’s been 15 years, and people still are complaining for no actual reason. What I mean by that is, considering it’s still an ongoing thing, that means people are still actively buying the higher tier of the “Full game.” So while we all sit here and complain nearly two decades later, is useless. It’s not their fault, we the gamers are STILL actively buying and actively complaining. You don’t have to buy it, and once the majority of gamers don’t buy into that expensive shit, it’ll die out. However that’s just never going to happen. I don’t mind this kind of stuff. Not a fan of it either, but it’s just one of those things you have no fuckin control over.

The things they have already that the “full version” doens’t have are super minimal but they are there (4 skins). Of all the games to pick to complain about this you might have picked the worst possible example to try and show it. I never buy any DLC or special/super/mega/ultra editions of any game until several years after they release when everything together is on sale for £15/20. I’ll take this over super street fighter six, ultra street fighter six, and ultra master street fighter six turbo edition I stopped buying fighting games at launch. I only buy them on sale now. I don’t really care for online play and usually solo or play vs friends. With all the DLC they add these games are too expensive for the value. I recently got both MK11 and IJ2 for 10 euro including all DLC. Now that was good value. Based on the comments here, have any of you seen a fighting game in the last decade? I don’t play them, and even I know this is standard practice for the genre. Regardless of whether or not you like it, this isn’t really surprising for a fighting game. Street Fighter has had additional paid characters for longer than most commenters in this thread have been alive. Yeah, obviously I’d love for this model to not exist but for a niche genre like fighting games it needs a model like this to exist. Like how train simulators have a ton of small dlc, or cities skylines has a bunch of expansions. Niche genres can’t survive without some form of post release financial support
