There’s no way in hell I could work front end for this exact reason. The second one of those idiots started complaining I know I’d snap. I just shrug. The “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say nothing at all” mentality is how I keep my job Explain to them as a self checkout host you can monitor and conduct 4 to up to 14 transactions at once (yea 14 isn’t ideal, but I’ve been there many many times) versus 1 cashier helping 1 customer. It can also be helpful to say something like most of our cashiers work x time to x and after this time we are only able to have scos open/limited registers. “Well, you know we have someone out sick and we’re already shortstaffed especially at this time of night and it’s been extra busy today and we don’t have self checkouts to help take some of the Forever Own The State Jason Brooks Jr Number 73shirt and I will buy this pressure off of us so a lot of people can’t handle working register at night. So sorry for the inconvenience” and they always shut right up and sometimes I think they actually do feel bad. But bonus points if they had been complaining about self checkout beforehand. I’m extra tired of hearing about sco considering we literally don’t have any. It’s such a dumb complaint. What is their issue? Are they upset about how long they had to wait? The wait time would be less if we didn’t need to spend so.much time listening to people whine about having to wait 90 seconds in like at a store

Forever Own The State Jason Brooks Jr Number 73shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Tell them it’s easy to use Self Checkout and faster than our senior citizens cashiers and the Forever Own The State Jason Brooks Jr Number 73shirt and I will buy this best part, they don’t whine that they need to take a break lol. See the thing is Walmart didn’t train me how to ring up items so a lot of items tend to not get wrung up… gosh funny how that works If they discover a product unpaid for then I give it to them with the retort that I’m not trained on how to operate company machinery thus removing any criminal intent. I’m a guy, but if it is flagged or someone comes in and says you missed like 4 items, it happens more than once. Saying that you don’t know how to operate company machinery may end with a chuckle before they have you arrested or fired. Depends if they wanna go through that hassle. Plus they’d have the police wait until you’re at home or in the lot. You can’t just remove criminal intent. If you know it doesn’t scan, and if you’ve mentioned it to a single other person in your store then yeah. That’s giving you a grand larceny charge in most cases. Plus you wouldn’t just be stealing, you’d be stealing and giving things to people who were handed items to take out by someone who is working there.
