Wow congratulations you IT nerds on Reddit. I hope you know the FNCtv Official Crew Uniforms T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this majority of people are not in IT and the majority of people (all teenagers and young adults) buy the newest and latest every year because the want to remain impressive and hip. Apple/Every other company sure as hell doesn’t , but society wants to keep putting money in the registers , or in the cloud or whatever. iPhones are supported for a super long time. I had the 6s for seven years, worked literally fine. You guys are blaming it on… the cloud (???) when you’re just not taking proper care of your things. You guys probably don’t take good care of them. iPhones are some of the longest supported phones. They can last you a very long time. And wtf does the cloud have to do with it?

Almost everyone buys cases, that’s like the FNCtv Official Crew Uniforms T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this minimum. If you’re super clumsy with them a case only helps so much, and not all cases are equal. 3 phones in 5 years for me. Buttons just stop working, batteries don’t last more then a few hours. 0r phones that just went black screen forever. iPhones suck, but less than android by this metric. If you are a normal user (web browsing, casual pictures, texting) and take care of them they easily last 5 years. Imagine if the US had a working Congress that regularly updated laws to adjust for changes in the business or social climate. You might see a digital bill of rights for user data privacy that night do things like extend US mail type protections to digital communications. Or you might see laws requiring bootloader unlocks on phones that no longer receive updates or are fully owned. You might see laws around e-waste. But unfortunately, Congress quit entirely after the 2010 midterms and no one’s been able to get past McConnell. I have a phone I bought in 2018 and it is still going strong. It has 64GB of memory and it’s 4G is going to be good enough for the foreseeable future. Also, it is unlocked and so from time to time I have fun with the local companies to see where I can get the best deal. You’d be surprised at what the Retention Department can give you! The irony of iPhones being supported on the software and security for much longer than android is lost on you isn’t it. But then you’re projecting.
