She’d also spend hundreds on groceries, buying more food than our family of 4 (2 of us kids in school 5 days a week) could possibly eat, and inevitably when stuff went bad she’d be in the First I Drink Coffee Then I Build Things Woodworking T-Shirt besides I will buy this kitchen throwing stuff out while cussing and yelling at my sister and I about how wasteful and ungrateful we were for letting all this food go bad. Then she’d go back to the grocery store, rinse and repeat. That’s a whole different issue though. Because food is fucking expensive, and throwing away half a meal because the kid doesn’t feel like eating it, then having them come up to you half an hour later and say they’re hungry just adds insult to injury. Guess what, kid, sometimes we all have to do things we don’t want to do.

She would load my plate up, or I would because my eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I would be forced to sit at the First I Drink Coffee Then I Build Things Woodworking T-Shirt besides I will buy this table and eat it all even when I said I was stuffed. It was because she didn’t want to waste food. Instead I developed anxiety about finishing my plate and developed an eating disorder. Thanks mom. Lazy parenting… It’s easier to give children one elephant sized portion and nag them to eat it all than it is to make appropriately portioned meals and dish out seconds or thirds as required. In the US we specialize in giving kids lifelong food issues then blaming them for it for the rest of their lives. I was a kid who was forced to sit at the table all night until finishing my plate of food and I always struggled with food in my adult life and developed had a binge eating problem.
