My step daughters teacher told the Feel Your Feelings Then Let Them Go Retro Mushroom T-Shirt and by the same token and class if they didn’t bring in candy for the Halloween party they wouldn’t get ANY candy at all. It’s not like those kids painted their artwork on corporate time therefore every product belongs to the corporation. The comment section is wild on this post. Schools now are conditioning kids to accept conforming. Back in school I dressed like every day was Halloween; no costume involved, just girl pants and offensive band shirts with some flair and hair. Mom always said: enjoy it now because one day someone will tell you how to look. At least let kids enjoy their youth before sending them off into the existential crisis known as professional assimilation to survive. You can live young and express yourself before becoming a part of the worker ants. Is the buying the art thing something the whole school does? I’d figure that out otherwise what if it’s just the teacher trying to profit some money.

Parents FYI, the Feel Your Feelings Then Let Them Go Retro Mushroom T-Shirt and by the same token and amount of money that public schools make in the United States is significantly determined by how many students are attending the school everyday or year. Basically the state you’re in will give a larger amount of tax dollars to the schools with more attendance. If you threaten to pull your kids out of the school due to the school charging families in order for their kids to actually participate in school events and get their art work back, you can bet it will influence how the school will act as a result. When is was a kid we went door to door selling stuff. I like how now we cut to the chase and straight up ask for money rather than selling you something you don’t want by putting kids in awkward positions. Just ask for all the money up front at the top of the school year as a one time donation. Don’t nickel and dime folks all year. The way I would be RAGING if I had to pay to bring my kid’s art home, especially if this is a school/class that sends home homework.
