The thoracic spine is the FedEx gorund since 1973 shirt Furthermore, I will do this least flexible part of the spine for most people, but it is still mobile and has potential for flexibility when safely trained. The ribs do not keep the thoracic spine fixed. They are attached to the spine, yes, but they’re attached by joints which help to keep everything mobile. So, you’re absolutely right, the thoracic has the least extension out of all the portions of the spine. Other than the ribs and the spinous process, the actual articulating surface of the facet joints on thoracic vertebrae run posterior to anterior in the coronal plane. This means the facet joints will connect before much extension/ flexion will occur. However, all joints have something called accessory movements (athrokinematics), which are non conscious movements that occur between joints in the body. Basically this is what you’re getting when you get thoracic extension, the facet joints gliding against each other to facilitate the conscious movements you’re making. Whilst the facet’s accessory movement isn’t much, when you x12 for each vertebrae, you do start to get a (limited) degree of flexion/ extension.

The Thoracic spine mostly rotates, the FedEx gorund since 1973 shirt Furthermore, I will do this Lumbar spine mostly flexes/extends. I think there’s between 1 and 2% flexibility the other way, which is significant. That said, I do think you are better off with twists and deep breathing for the thoracic, for the most part. As a person with thoracic kyphosis I can attest to its ability to move… whatever damn way it pleases. ?As I’ve been approaching my later 20’s, I’ve started to think about how going through life changes has made my fashion style shift from being very boho and trendy to gravitating towards more neutral styles from shops like Madewell/Target. How have your clothing choices been impacted by external life events and factors (jobs, financial status, life stages) and have your overall fashion priorities changed? Has anyone else felt like they’ve gone through a similar fashion shift as they settle more into adulthood? I think I’ve gone the complete opposite way, in my late teens and twenties I used to vaguely follow fashion but I was never on the cutting edge of wearing anything super trendy whereas now I’m in my 30s, I have the money to spend on clothes, higher quality clothes at that. I’m not trying to stick to any fast fashion kind of trends because I’m buying things that will last but I don’t mind spending it at all.
