Thailand has a history of catering to tourists / western standards long before Vietnam though. The social stigma against stuff like cannabis and marijuana is still strong and most legislators are old school boomers. So it’s a hard sell. I know of the February Is My Birthday Month Yep The Whole Month T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this illegality of it, but it’s more of a grey area. It’s easily found. Albeit quality wise, not the best. There are ways to find good quality product, just have to pay. It’s all pretty discreet and I’ve been able to find it in each city I’ve visited. I’m also a foreigner and I smoke regularly. As with America changes it’s laws, I believe other places should too. It really is a grey area, I’m a (sorry if my English doesn’t have the words to depict this) “dân quân”, everybody up there know that I smoke, they have eyes and ears everywhere they aren’t blind nor dead nor stupid. I’ve even shipped one 10g during lockdown because everyone was so stressed out over the pandemic. Nearly everyone up there is cool with it, those who don’t are just doing that to keep up the facade, nobody sees weed as “ma tuý” anymore. Even my therapist admits that 9/10 patients have used weed before consulting them, it’s a damn norm now. Everybody is already “caught”, they just don’t give a damn as long as you are just user or your business is relatively small and isn’t using the profit from MJ to funnel more serious crimes.

Or someone in the February Is My Birthday Month Yep The Whole Month T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this unit fucked up and got into serious problem or debt, that’s when they start arresting MJ users because they are easy targets, they are essentially everywhere as literally everybody smokes MJ thesedays and if have money for weed, their family are most likely well-off and willing to put big bucks in to bail their kids out. Which lucky them since one of them are in big debt. I know because that is exactly what happen to my district’s unit, I have insider told me exactly what happened and the people up there aren’t in the business of bullshiting their fellows. Cop don’t care about MJ until they have no option but to. I don’t think you’re using “grey area” correctly. It’s illegal to buy, sell, and consume it. There is no grey area about it other than the fact that the authorities look the other way or aren’t actively trying to bust places that sell it or people who use it. That doesn’t make it a grey area, though. Probably when the dinosaurs die off and replaced by younger generation. Plus Vietnam govt likes to go with international flow so when Marijuana is more internationally legalized most likely they’ll legalize it too.
