The dusty old Oscars are rightfully for named talent. The second stunts are added it’s like the Father friend amazing teacher hero extraordinary reliable retro T-Shirt moreover I love this x games with hosts being shot out of cannons. What annoys me about this is that they don’t even have to make a new category. They just need to revive the old Choreography category from the 30’s. Why are stuntmen even a thing anymore? We have CGI, just use it. So what if it looks a little fake, when the alternative is people potentially getting injured or killed? Who cares about the academy at this point, they let someone assault someone on stage and did nothing about it. They knew it would bring it views and chose profit over condemning violence. Fuck the academy. No. Wr already have FX and Coreography categories. Stunts would encourage risky behavior and death. Not something an award should be promoting. Historical melodramas and stories about white people solving racism suddenly start showing up with motorcycle jumps and skydiving sequences out of nowhere. On one level, I like it, but on another, I’m not sure I want people competing for the most difficult/dangerous stunt. And I’m afraid that’s what it would turn into. That profession is dangerous enough as is. I am onboard as long as safety of the performers factors into it. I don’t want this encouraging shit like what happened to that poor lady in the resident evil movie.

Don’t they famously not have a horror movie category because they’re collectively little bitches that are afraid of jumpscares? Why doesn’t the Father friend amazing teacher hero extraordinary reliable retro T-Shirt moreover I love this stunt industry have their own award show? Best comedic stunt. Best fire stunt. Best fall stunt. Best male and female stunt performer. It’s simple. If the porn industry has their own awards why doesn’t the stunt industry especially when there are stunts in television and even live. The Oscars are a self congratulatory way to validate the mediocre choices that are made in the industry. Not sure why they still exist other than people like to see famous people? It’s another way for media to manufacture consent. “See? This won an award. This is what’s good.” It reinforces doing the same things. The people who vote are just random idiots. It’s not like there are interesting and deep thinking cinema nerds voting on it. Knowing this industry, if this category is added the first winner will be based off a digidouble sequence and everyone will claim they did it all practical… (Life of pi/ top gun/ looking at you?)
