Saying that a black person is black is only a bad thing if the Excavator Dad Like A Reuglar Dad But More Arm-Azing Equipment T-Shirt moreover I will buy this listener(s) consider being black to be bad, it says more about them than you. No it was not a racist thing to ask, I’m all for inclusion of diversity in all forms but at the same time, people are becoming too sensitive now, saying “the big black guy right??” Especially in the context that you did should not be cause to think you’re being racist, as you stated, you couldn’t remember the person’s name properly and wanted to be sure so you mentioned to descriptors that made sense. I understand not wanting to offend anyone/wanting to defend people but for the other people to freeze at your question as if you just stated the absolute worst, most horrible thing imaginable is taking the inclusion thing and just flipping it on its head!! I used to know two guys who were known as “Tall Tom” and “Really Tall Tom” until they got sick of it and said “Just call us Black Tom and White Tom”. It’s not racist to describe their skin colour, racism is to assume other characteristics on the basis of their skin colour/ancestry.

I dont think so, I call some friends black and they dont bat an eye (they describe themselves as black), but also some people are more sensitive so its just a good idea to adjust your words based on your current audience. I mean, you could debate them on it, but its easier just to not have to deal with that. Its kinda just “reading the Excavator Dad Like A Reuglar Dad But More Arm-Azing Equipment T-Shirt moreover I will buy this room” and guestimating people’s levels. Its important later in life when you have an office job or whatever, everybody’s stressed and they just want to do their hours and for everyone to get along. No, in my experience black people appreciate you for not pussy footing around. “Black” is not racist and tip toeing around it like it is, is actually more offensive. They were black there’s nothing “bad” about that.
