Quite prominently, in some cases. Although many qualified and highly educated applicants came along, it was rare to see someone hired who wasn’t on the upper end of being attractive. Actually, there was one lady hired who was overweight and dressed less stylishly than any of the others. She didn’t last long, but I don’t know if it was because of her job performance or negativity towards her being less “easy on the eye”. Being pretty or handsome definitely gives you a foot up the ladder, but you also have to be able to deliver or you won’t advance far.

Pretty privilege is absolutely real. I definitely Believe it played a hand in me getting hired but I’m not complaining, I need a job I think it’s creepy regardless of gender and orientation.
