If appearance is a factor of a particular role, that’s perfectly fine. Ie: Hooters. They are leagally allowed to hire using appearence as a factor because its a requirement for the Easily distracted cats and book coffee vintage shirt Additionally,I will love this role. You learn and get as much as you can from this company in order to make your next move. While you’re doing that, network so that you can learn the values of other companies that interest you (the real ones, not just what they state). Then, when you have what you need to make your next move, go somewhere that will value you as an employee. In the meantime, protect yourself and don’t ever be alone with that woman unless you have your phone recording it. And document, document, document. Bad news: that’s everyone. If you look like dog slop or smell like dog slop, people aren’t going to want to hire you for what they can pay someone who is equal in every other way, but isn’t like that. As much as we would like to intellectually think we are separate from our physical form, it simply isn’t the case.

Take advantage of your looks while you have it. You may not always be as handsome and charming! Also people are people. You will get hired for other factors such as personality, looks, etc outside of your qualifications. Honestly, I worked a sales job where we had a woman hired for this very reason, and the Easily distracted cats and book coffee vintage shirt Additionally,I will love this entire staff was completely aware (she didn’t even know how to hold the objects we were selling and she was over-the-top flirty with every single man who walked in). Do you think you can do the job? Are they expecting you to be flirty with customers/clients? If they want you to be flirty or show a lot of skin, you may want to walk – if you want to. It depends on how you feel about that. If you choose to let that bother you you can obviously make your own decision. But know the people who come in are less interested in how you look than you think. They need a thing or a service and they want you to provide it. They’re not expecting it to be a nightclub where they can pick someone up, so they don’t care if you are a supermodel or 3 three raccoons in a trench coat as long as you can do the job. You got the job. Good for you for being really, really good-looking. (Did that in the most Derek Zoolander voice in my own head) It’s an unfortunate fact of life that humans make these decisions in a split second, and there will always be bias. Feel flattered and don’t be arrogant.
