Why did penguin even have to “get caught”. That part made no sense. It only seemed like it was a plot device to have the everyday I Have The Blues Snoopy Shirt and by the same token and cool jail scene. Penguin and Joker in next to next cells. Lol. Much like the Nolan movies, the Batman is still dumb. His only questions to Riddle were “what?” “what did you do?”. Much like the memed “Where is he? ‘ from Nolan trilogy. During the ending, Batman straight up hanging for 5 minutes till Catwoman saved him. It completely took me out of the movie. The whole subplot of Catwoman and the father Batman seeing the orphan child 100 times had no effect on me. Alfred is wasted. Why did he even open the mailbox knowing it’s frok penguin. It’s out of character for him to be so stupid. There’s probably much more, which I can’t recall.

Adding to the everyday I Have The Blues Snoopy Shirt and by the same token and previous point, the film wants to take it like a “serious drama” but the comic book like stupid writing just doesn’t work with it. Incredibly long and poorly edited. We don’t need to see 5 minutes of him pulling an envelope out of a cage. For me, it seem like Batman didn’t grow as a character at all. He’s still the same guy at the start of the movie as he’s at the end of the movie. Sure the circumstances have changed and “he has to try”. But he didn’t learn anything from the events. Too many subplots. There’s like 4 villains at once. As such, they all seemed lackluster. It wasn’t till the final hour, where atleast penguin seemed like a genuine threat. Disappointed with the fight scenes. The introduction fight scene was coolest of them all. The night club scene was also passable. Looked choreographed, same as the Nolan series. Definitely much better than TDK night club scene though . And the shot with Machine Gun was also cool looking. But everything else kinda was lame. I also didn’t like the car chase scene, I don’t know what people are seeing in that. 80 percent of the car chase was inside the vehicle. It didn’t seem intense at all. The ending jump shot was definitely cool. But too long for what it was. For comparison, the 14 year old TDK truck chase scene is still 100x better. Both were shot with minimal CGI. The top cop and top detective do not think twice before plugging an unknown usb drive connected to the internet. The cliche of Catwoman saving the day. During the end, batman keeps hanging from one arm. But does not even attempt to get up using two arms. Only for Catwoman to save him. Similar cliche was used in TDKR but atleast in that movie, Catwoman makes a surprise entrance to kill Bane. Here, everyone can predict that Catwoman will save Batman 2 mins ahead of the scene.
