My pastor told me a story (without details) that he was once doing marriage prep with a couple. Part way through he suggested that they should take a real look at whether getting married was the Evan Mobley American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this best option. Yeah therapists aren’t supposed to tell you what choices to make just help you understand your choices more. They’re just people with opinions like everybody else frankly. They give you tools and it’s on you to make something of it. They can’t fix anybody Yes. Years ago my ex and I went to therapy. Therapist told me to go ahead and move on it didn’t look like there was anything to save. Gave me peace of mind since I was getting grief from family members that we were being too hasty. Had a therapist who suggested my wife and I divorce after one meeting. That was 3 years ago. We are still working at it, but things are better. Fuck that guy Mine did. I first went because I was having panic/anxiety attacks for no real reason. As in having them in a grocery store. I wanted to have better mental health. Turned out I just needed to get divorced. The therapist is not supposed to tell clients what to do. They help clients discover it by asking questions or providing a “safe place” to discuss feelings. I went through marital counseling & the therapist was clear that it was not his role to “save the marriage”. We did get divorced & the process helped me. Yes, my parents were actually told that therapy would no longer help them and they should do personal work separately or just break tf up
