Some bars give free soda to designated drivers. I had a bestie who was mormon and most bars/clubs would always ask if she was the Detroit Lions Homage Monsters of the Gridiron Halloween Shirt and by the same token and DD when she would order a soda. Note, if you order a soda or water, there may still be an expectation of a tip especially if you’re parked in a stool. Just like staying extra long at a restaurant, after a certain point, you should consider adding a little rent to the food/drink tip. edit: my friend would follow the $1 per drink rule, but most times it was because us drunks would “pay for her drinks to say thanks for driving”. We were all very protective if anyone questioned her not drinking because her body, her choice. Most people were just surprised how much fun she had partying into the late night while completely sober. She’s was down for anything and has had the fun experience of an after-after party

Looove a non drinker. Sure, there may not be much in the Detroit Lions Homage Monsters of the Gridiron Halloween Shirt and by the same token and way of tips, but there’s not much in the way of work, either. Alternatively, lots of places are doing craft mocktails now, if you don’t want to feel “out of place” (and pay much more money for orange juice) I got diet cokes the last time I went to a bar and the bartender didn’t even charge me. And at the casino they don’t charge for soda either. I wouldn’t worry about it. Unless you’re getting bottles. If you’re going to the bar and enjoyed your service maybe leave a few bucks before you leave. if you’re being served by a waitress throw some quarters in with the rest of the tables tips As long as you are buying something you aren’t doing anything wrong. Hell if all you do is play pool and drink water in a bar you’re still a customer. Only ones that don’t will say it upfront or 2 drink minimum clubs but even then you can just pay for them and get something else Leave tips for the waters you order and you’ll be the bartenders favorite person. Totally sober + good tips is practically a dream. Where I live if you go in with a few friends and they say your the DD. They will give you a bracelet and you get NA drinks free all night.
