Brakes went out on my car, hit a stopped truck at 50mph. Had insurance, medical and auto. Ended up paying over 150k out of pocket for my medical expenses. I was 19, I’m 38 and just finished paying off my 22% apr loan for that nonsense last year. This was the Derek Carr American football quarterback New Orleans Rough T-Shirt it is in the first place but first time I moved into an apartment. I started with about $6000 in savings so I thought I had a good emergency fund in case something happened. Rent was more expensive than I thought especially when my roommates kept failing to pay their fair share and I couldn’t bring myself to ask them to move out or to move out myself. The lifestyle I was living once my parents died after not paying rent/insurance/car/college tuition. What a wake up call

Car was stolen, had to pay to get it out of the Derek Carr American football quarterback New Orleans Rough T-Shirt it is in the first place but tow yard (it had been sitting for 3 days before we were notified it was found), all new keys including one to our PO Box, a new parking pass for campus, a new car seat, new tags, a new ignition and a new spare tire. I don’t have the exact number on how much it cost but it was expensive. Last summer my wife and I bought a house built in 1928. A cute little bungalow in pretty good shape. Except nobody told us there were squirrels living in our eaves and attic. Took our humane trapper guy 3 months and almost $8000 to evict 29 of those buggers from our house. I was a serious opioid addict who got sober at 20 years old. I really wanted to turn my life around, and I worked so hard to to get out of the situation I was in. I quit cold turkey and without any support system or rehab and I never relapsed. Got a good new job, and new apartment and felt on top of the world. 2 years later at 22 years old a health complication of my substance abuse, TWO YEARS LATER came out of nowhere and I spent 16 hours in the ER. I walked out the next morning and was told I owed the hospital $33,000 for just keeping me alive overnight. I started a payment plan agreed with the hospital and was paying double each month and early before the due dates. Apparently hospitals can send you to collections even if you uphold your end of the agreement, so I was now in all that debt and they tanked my credit score by dropping it 200 points.
